2019 was a year of growth and personal goals. And one of my goals was to prepare and present a masterclass for the Jumbla Academy students.
Back in 2016, I had gone through the Academy myself and it was the bedrock to which all my current skills started from. So I wanted to give back to Jumbla by offering a masterclass that would give them an in-depth look into the Value Graph of Adobe After Effects – which I believe to be the THE most important area to learn how to use, in order to become a professional animator.
With my class, I provided a series of exercises for the students to do in their free time. And this was one of them. I designed this abstract exercise to get them to go all-out with the value graph, to extend the handles to the extreme, to rotate, to flatten, to do what ever they possibly can to it – so that they can see for themselves just what value, the value graph, had for them.
I went in and animated it for myself, and I will be showing this to any future masterclasses I have!
